Andrea Potts

I have always loved fashion and creativity. My inspiration stems from architecture, flora, interiors and interior fabrics. I loved Versace, as well as the classics like Dior and Chanel and more recently designer Elie Saab.

I design from my workroom in the store mostly, however ideas pop into my head at all times including in the middle of the night! I also tutor at EIT in design and fashion illustration which I really enjoy, as it adds another dimension to my work.

I also offer a dressing service for the brides. Some girls we have worked with for a year leading up to their big day, so we really want to make sure that everything is absolutely perfect for them when they walk down the isle. It’s a real treat to share those few moments before they become Mrs whoever.

Silverlily

Silverlily is my label. I work on a new collection every season which I sell via a party plan. It’s a girl’s night out where the hosts invites 10–20 people for drinks and nibbles. I do a talk, show the range and tell them a bit about myself. The ladies can then try on the pieces at their leisure with their friends.

The turn around time for an ordered piece is three weeks, the hostess receives the orders and a nice gift for hosting the party. It’s a great way to shop from home, as it's really relaxing without the pressure. You can take your time, bounce ideas around and it generally avoids having to organise babysitters. Lets face it, your girlfriends are the most honest, so you end up purchasing something that really suits you.
